L&D Upskilling — recognition, reimbursement, and reward (Team SOP)

Summarized from the Team-Facing SOP (Owner: Operations, effective March 2026). For the canonical wording, use the Notion link above.

Purpose

Brainforge supports continuous learning and upskilling. When you complete a course or earn a certification that aligns with your role and company goals, this is how you request recognition and reimbursement (where eligible).

How you benefit

  • Recognition — Completion is celebrated with the team (e.g. shoutout in the All Team Member channel).
  • Financial support — Reimbursement for eligible course or exam costs (subject to approval), plus a one-time reward when you become certified (see below).
  • Career growth — Learning ties to career pathways, mentorship, and performance conversations — see Growth & Development in the Handbook.

Company benefits

  • Stronger client credibility — Certifications increase trust and shorten sales cycles.
  • Partner leverage — Shows investment in key platforms → partnerships and inbound opportunities.
  • Clarity — One process for L&D requests and recognition.

What the company offers

WhenWhat you get
Completing a courseEligible for reimbursement (approval required).
Becoming certified(1) One-time reward: $150–250 upon certification, subject to Exec approval (weekly batch review, every Tuesday). (2) Public recognition — People Ops shoutout in the All Team Member channel once approved.

Course or exam costs are reimbursed through a separate process; do not purchase before approval if you need reimbursement.

After you certify — certification reward (submission)

  1. Fill out the L&D Certification form in Notion.
  2. Attach a copy of the certificate (or official completion proof) so Ops can verify.
  3. Submit — Ops confirms receipt. Exec reviews L&D submissions weekly, every Tuesday (batch). Once approved, Ops sends to Finance for reimbursement and reward, and People Ops posts the shoutout.

Course or exam cost reimbursement uses a different workflow than this form — use the expense / reimbursement process your manager or Ops directs you to.

Timeline and recognition

  • Reviews: Exec reviews submissions weekly (every Tuesday).
  • Payout: Expect reimbursement and any certification reward in the next pay cycle after Ops has submitted to Finance following that week’s Exec approval.
  • Shoutout: After Exec approval, People Ops posts in the All Team Member channel.

Before you submit — checklist

  • I completed a course or earned a certification that aligns with my role or company goals.
  • I used the L&D Certification form with correct details and attached proof.
  • I did not confuse this form with the expense / reimbursement request if those are separate.

Where to ask questions

Anthropic certification — work in progress (WIP)

The Claude / Anthropic certification path (priorities, sequencing, exam prep, and whether it appears as its own page in The Forge) is not finalized. Treat any Anthropic-specific rows, schedule cells, and the draft playbook as draft only until L&D confirms.

Active priorities for everyone: Snowflake and Omni credentials below — including SnowPro Core and SnowPro Specialty: Gen AI for AI Service once Core is active, plus Omni where applicable.

Why these certifications

Partner certifications for Snowflake, Omni, and Anthropic-class vendors are required for those partnerships to send Brainforge leads. They are not a nice-to-have — they are a revenue prerequisite. The goal is 100% of Data, AI, and Strategy service line members officially certified on at least two (2) core tools.

Why vendor certifications matter (stack and partners)

This is the delivery / partner context on top of the Team SOP benefits above.

Partners and revenue

  • Snowflake, Omni, and Anthropic-class partner programs expect credentialed teams. Without aligned certifications, partnerships cannot reliably route leads — a revenue gate, not optional polish.
  • Hitting the company learning goals keeps Sales and GTM aligned with what partners can commit to in the market.

Your delivery credibility

  • Client conversations and demos land better when credentials match the stack we implement (Omni, Snowflake, and — once finalized — vendor AI architecture paths where we partner).
  • Vendor certs complement Brainforge Quickstart: they show you can operate the tools we deliver, not only discuss them.

Prioritized certifications

These are the active priorities by service line. Complete them in the order shown under Certification paths by service line unless your engagement lead directs otherwise.

Certification paths by service line

Data Service

Step 1 → Omni Platform Certification
└── Omni Quickstart Certification (training/co-dev leads only)
Step 2 → SnowPro Core (COF-C03)
Step 3 → SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer (DEA-C02)

Start with Omni while waiting for Snowflake exam registration. Quickstart Certification is only required for resources leading training/enablement sessions — confirm with your engagement lead. SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer requires an active Core cert — do not attempt before Core is passed and confirmed.

AI Service

Anthropic / Claude certification: WIP — sequencing and official target dates are not locked. Ignore older “take Claude first” guidance until L&D finalizes the map.

Active Snowflake path (confirmed):

Step 1 → SnowPro Core (COF-C03)
Step 2 → SnowPro Specialty: Gen AI (GES-C01) ← requires active Core

Add Omni Platform / Quickstart when your role is customer-facing or leading training — same rules as other service lines.

Strategy Service

Step 1 → Omni Platform Certification
└── Omni Quickstart Certification (training/co-dev leads only)

Primary cert target is Platform. Quickstart is only required for resources leading training/enablement sessions. Focus on querying, dashboards, AI features, and real-world business applications.

Shared prerequisite

Both the Data and AI Snowflake paths require an active SnowPro Core certification before advancing to their specialty cert. There is one shared page for it:

snowpro-core.md — used by both Data and AI service lines.

Suggested study approach

  1. Book the exam once you have a realistic window to sit it.
  2. Complete the official free courses listed on each certification page.
  3. Use the official practice exam to identify weak areas, then re-study only those domains.

Immediate actions

  1. Start Omni study — Core materials are in the Platform Training Guide and LearnOmni.org (see omni-platform-certification.md). Partner program context: exploreomni.com/partners. Certification questions: Peter Whitehead (peter@omni.co) · Becca Bruggman (becca@omni.co).
  2. Anthropic Partner Network / Claude exam (WIP)Hold until L&D finalizes the Anthropic map. Draft reference only: access request form.
  3. Register and schedule your SnowPro Core exam — Register at cp.certmetrics.com/snowflake/en/login and schedule when you’re ready.
  4. Create a Linear task per cert — Track under Initiative 1 in the LD Linear team, one ticket per cert per person.
