Why this certification

The Omni Quickstart framework gives customers the foundation to launch with expert-led co-development sessions and developer and user training. Quickstart content can be delivered as a standalone package or as part of a broader professional services engagement — ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across implementations.

Quickstart Certification is for delivery resources who will lead training and enablement sessions with customers. It should be completed before picking up any Quickstart or enablement-heavy implementation work.

Unlike Platform Certification (which grants a public badge), Quickstart is currently an internal-only designation — Omni may introduce a public badge in the future. The cert still carries weight internally and is required for specific project types.


Who needs this cert

Per-project requirement: Any Quickstart or project that contains enablement and co-development requires at least one Quickstart certified resource on the project.

Relationship to Platform Certification

Quickstart Certification builds on top of Platform Certification. Complete Platform Certification first.

Step 1: Study the Quickstart materials

1a. Quickstart Certification Overview (start here)

Read this first. It explains the Quickstart framework structure, what customers receive, and what a Quickstart-certified delivery resource is expected to be able to do.

1b. Scaled Customer Onboarding Guide (primary study material)

This is the core study material for the Quickstart cert. It covers what the Quickstart framework delivers, how onboarding sessions are structured, and what a developer/user training session looks like. Study it in full before recording your videos.

What to focus on:

  • How Quickstart sessions are sequenced and timed
  • Developer training: data connections, model basics, first topic/dashboard
  • User training: querying, AI features, self-service patterns
  • How to adapt content for different customer contexts and technical levels
  • Handoff and follow-on structure after the Quickstart engagement

1c. Review all Quickstart materials

Per Omni’s certification requirements, you must review all Quickstart materials — not just the onboarding guide. Use the official slides linked above (overview and scaled onboarding guide) plus any additional partner materials your Omni contact shares. Confirm you have reviewed everything before recording.


Step 2: Hands-on preparation

Before recording your training videos, be confident you can deliver a live Quickstart session. Practice:

  • Walk through a complete developer onboarding session end-to-end (data connection → model → topic → dashboard)
  • Walk through a user training session (querying, AI assistant, sharing/collaboration)
  • Handle common questions from non-technical users
  • Demonstrate the handoff from co-development sessions to self-service

Use a sandbox or demo environment. Time yourself — Quickstart sessions are fast-paced and scoped tightly.


Step 3: Complete the certification

Quickstart Certification has two parts (no written assessment — it’s video-based).

Part 1 — Developer training video

Record a demo of you delivering a developer training session. This should demonstrate:

  • Setting up a data connection
  • Building or modifying a topic (dimensions, measures)
  • Walking a developer through the model IDE
  • Explaining dbt integration basics

Refer to the Quickstart Certification Overview for exact requirements, format, and length guidance.

Part 2 — User training video

Record a demo of you delivering a user training session. This should demonstrate:

  • Navigating Omni as a non-technical user
  • Using the AI assistant / Blobby for natural language querying
  • Building or exploring a dashboard
  • Setting up sharing and scheduled delivery for stakeholders

Submission & validation

Submit both training videos through Omni’s official Google Form — do not send video files or share links by email to the Omni team for submission:

  • Omni Quickstart Certification (internal designation)
  • No public badge at this time; Omni may introduce one in the future

After receiving confirmation, notify Brylle Girang on #ai-learning so it can be logged in the partner roster.
