Standards and SOPs (delivery)
Purpose: This is the main standards chapter for the delivery system. It is the best single read for understanding the Brainforge delivery bar.
Templates and formatting rules still live in standards/. This folder is the delivery-specific layer.
1. What this section covers
This section defines:
- the floor
- the excellence layer
- communication discipline
- project management discipline
- the enforcement model behind the standards
If you read only one delivery section first, start here.
2. The floor

- distill complexity into clear action
- deliver tangible value
- close the loop
This is the minimum bar across Head of Delivery, CSO, Service Lead, and ICs.

3. What great looks like
Excellence is not the same as the floor.
The excellence layer includes:
- show up with a point of view
- think beyond your lane
- attack the limiting factor
- hold the standard for teammates
- raise the bar continuously
- manage up, down, and across
This is where coaching and leadership development should live.
4. Communication discipline
Communication is part of delivery quality.
Core rules:
- the client story must match the build
- status, risks, asks, and next steps should be clear
- the CSO is the default external voice for commitments and timeline narrative
- internal leadership hears new negatives before the sponsor does
- weekly touchpoints should include something tangible when possible
Detailed doctrine:
5. PM discipline
Strong PM discipline exists to make the work defensible, legible, and governable.
Core rules:
- plan before promise
- dependencies explicit
- visible ownership
- systems of record reflect reality
- material changes trigger re-review
