SOW Quality Checklist

Use this checklist before finalizing a Statement of Work.

Template (single source of truth): standards/02-writing/SOWs/sow-template.md — Sections 1–13 + optional (Why Brainforge?, Case Studies, Next Steps). All SOWs and GTM proposals use this template. Renewal path taxonomy: knowledge/sales/sow-framework/README.md — choose and label FDTaaS vs DFS.


Structure

  • Follows the official SOW template
  • Engagement path is explicitly labeled (FDTaaS or DFS)
  • Structure matches selected path (workstream-flex for FDTaaS, milestone/phase clarity for DFS)
  • All sections are complete
  • Headings and formatting are consistent
  • Lists used instead of long paragraphs

Clarity

  • Project objective is clear
  • Scope is easy to understand
  • Avoids vague language like “optimize,” “some work,” or “improve things”
  • Assumptions and risks are explicit

Accuracy

  • All details match meeting notes
  • No invented requirements
  • No outdated information
  • Deliverables match what Brainforge actually intends to provide

Completeness

  • Includes objectives
  • Includes scope (in & out)
  • Includes requirements
  • Includes deliverables
  • Includes timeline
  • Includes assumptions
  • Includes risks
  • Includes success indicators / acceptance criteria appropriate for selected path

Tone

  • Professional and client-facing
  • No internal abbreviations or jargon
  • No casual or conversational phrasing

Final Review

  • Reviewed manually
  • Passed AI clarity check
  • Passed AI completeness check
  • Passed AI accuracy check
  • Pricing (if included) is correct
  • Ready for internal review or client submission
