Omni Certification: How to Get Certified

Purpose: Internal step-by-step guide for Brainforge team members pursuing Omni Platform and/or Quickstart Certification.

Project Requirements

  • Hands-on keyboard work: At least one Platform-certified resource per project
  • Quickstart or enablement/co-dev: At least one Quickstart-certified resource per project

Platform Certification

Outcome: Public-facing badge, well-trained to deliver implementation & migration services. Expected process: 1–2 weeks (video learning, assessment, hands-on development, demo).

Steps

  1. Self-paced Platform Training Guide
    Latest version in Partner Portal (Euler). Reach out to your partner manager if you don’t have access or haven’t signed a partner agreement.

  2. Platform Certification Assessment

  3. Build and record a demo video (~20 min total)

    • Intro (3–5 min): High-level overview of Omni, key differentiators and value for data teams and business users
    • Remainder: Demo of Omni platform
    • Submit: [TBD – submit demo here; link provided by Omni in certification materials]

Demo Scenario (suggested)

“Your client is currently using a last-generation BI tool and is looking for a potential alternative to expand self-service access to data throughout their organization.”

Talk Track (must cover)

  • Role and value of the semantic model
  • Topic creation, curation, and reusability
  • Model-as-you-go development workflow
  • Simplicity and flexibility of Excel-style calculation creation and promotion
  • AI querying functionality and significance of context curation
  • Interoperability with the broader data stack (including dbt integration)
  • Branch-based development and SDLC best practices

Build & Demo Requirements

Personally build and demo:

  • A topic (all views & fields or SQL) with: default filters, multiple joins, dimensions, measures, clean descriptions and labels
  • A dashboard containing: KPI visualization, controls, templated filters and/or parameters, period-over-period analysis, AI summarization
  • Using: Query views, Excel calculations and Calcs AI, Blobby AI, access filters and/or access grants
  • Anything else cool you built or functionality that improved your life from previous workflows

Data: Use a dataset of your choice or the Salesforce data available in your partner account (Customer Success schema).

Success Criteria & Review

  • Clearly articulates Omni’s philosophy, architecture, and value
  • Explains how Omni’s build-as-you-go philosophy simplifies workflows
  • Highlights the value of a semantic model
  • Demonstrates understanding of complex modeling and analytical concepts
  • Features an in-depth and interesting dashboard that showcases ability to solve customer challenges

Review process: Omni panel reviews the recording. Feedback and pass/fail within 48 hours. If fail, Omni provides feedback; you may resubmit another demo 2 weeks after the initial one (expected to work on a new/different dataset).

Quickstart Certification

Prerequisite: Platform Certified.

Outcome: Internal-only designation for partners working on Omni implementations (no public badge). For resources who will lead training & enablement sessions with customers.

Steps

  1. Self-paced Customer Onboarding Guide
    Omni’s scaled customer onboarding guide. See Partner Portal (Euler) or contact certification contacts for access.

  2. Review all Quickstart materials

    • Omni Quickstart Guide (our copy) – template links, rules of engagement
    • Omni’s full Quickstart materials overview – TBD link from Omni’s “here” on Quickstart Materials page
    • Example ideal flow recordings – TBD link from Omni (“review the recordings here”)

  3. Record and submit Developer and User training videos

    • ~45–60 minutes each
    • Deliver training within the platform and in slides
    • Navigate with ease around Omni platform and slide materials
    • Use Omni-provided materials in your presentation

Review process: Omni panel reviews. Feedback and pass/fail within 1 week. If fail, Omni provides feedback to improve; re-record training for review.
