Individual Contributor (IC) — role definition
Purpose: Engineers and analysts who execute scoped work in Linear with clear ownership and escalation.
Mission
- Deliver Issues on time and to quality bar set by Service Lead and team standards.
- Make progress visible in Linear (status, blockers, links to PRs/docs).
- Escalate early when requirements, access, or dependencies are unclear.
Accountability
- Responsible for assigned Issues; not accountable for full client narrative — that sits with CSO.
- Participates in rituals the engagement uses (e.g. leadership sync summaries, async updates) without substituting for CSO/SL judgment on commitments.
Collaboration
- SL — technical direction, review, unblocking.
- CSO — client context and priority when work is client-visible; avoid side-channel commitments without CSO awareness.
