Participants:

Rollout Strategy & User Targeting

  • Focus on small number of teams initially: membership operations, CS operations, marketing
  • Target users comfortable with data but not necessarily technical experts
  • Main use cases: engagement tracker lookups, stats for briefers, basic analysis
  • Set clear expectations about what data is/isn’t available in Snowflake
  • Open to everyone but best positioned to support specific teams initially

Data Catalog & Documentation

  • Create question-based catalog rather than table-focused
    • “Here are topics you can ask about” vs “Here are available tables”
    • 10 sample questions per topic area
    • Clear guidance on what’s ready: CES data mostly, membership depends on request, conferences available
  • Live view of what others are asking for discovery
  • Placeholders for future data expansion areas

Support Structure & Feedback Loop

  • Slack channel for community discussion (not ticketing)
    • Low-friction questions and navigation help
    • Clear guardrails: discussion only, not work requests
    • Rotating on-call schedule to manage volume
    • 2-hour SLA for responses
  • Asana for actual work requests and data changes
  • Office hours with demo + hands-on “do it together” approach
  • Lunch & learn during tech week (targeting week of March 24th)

Adoption Dashboard & Metrics

  • Track thumbs up/thumbs down feedback - prioritize fixing negative feedback quickly
  • Usage frequency goals (weekly/daily usage patterns)
  • Before/after impact stories for leadership
    • Time savings on common questions
    • Reduction from 80+ Power BI dashboards to single platform
    • ROI calculations based on question frequency
  • Positive reinforcement through user spotlights rather than usage shaming

User Roles & Access

  • Single role: “role_chat” for Cortex access only
  • Provision through Trelica with CTA teams
  • Focus on AI chat interface rather than direct SQL access
  • Most users expected to stay at conversation level vs building apps

Timeline & Next Steps

  • Target March 30th rollout announcement
  • Lunch & learn preliminary Tuesday, March 25th (Uttam to confirm availability)
  • Critical dependency: CES data quality and semantic model reliability
  • Katherine to draft rollout messaging
  • Team to develop starter questions and how-to guides
  • Uttam to coordinate in-person participation during tech week
